Becoming a Member
In the New Testament, the local church is a body of baptized believers. We invite you to become a member of First Baptist Carrollton in one of four ways:
Profession of Faith and Baptism
This involves receiving Jesus Christ as your personal Savior and then being obedient to Him through Scriptural baptism.
If you are a Baptist whose membership is in another Baptist church, you may join our church by letter. Tell us that you are coming by letter and we will take care of the details of transferring your membership to our fellowship.
Baptism from Another Denomination
If you have previously received Jesus Christ as your personal Savior and are a member of a non–Baptist church, you may join our church by receiving Scriptural baptism, which is by immersion. Scriptural baptism is a symbol of Christ’s death, burial, and resurrection. It is also a testimony of your salvation and the first step in obedience to Christ.
If you were not previously a member of a Baptist church, you may join by statement if you have received Jesus Christ as your personal Savior and have been Scripturally baptized in a church of like faith.
We invite you to come forward at the end of our worship service and share your decision to join with our Pastor and staff. We want you to know that you are always welcome at First Baptist Carrollton. If you need more information about becoming a member, we would be happy to talk to you. Contact our Adult Discipleship Office or call 972-512-3840.
