Children's Basketball

Kids Community Basketball

For children PreK-6th Grade  |  $75  |  January 2016

Kids Community Basketball is a fall/winter basketball program for children in Pre-K-6th grade. As the name implies, we welcome all children from our community to participate. Children are evaluated at the beginning of the season in order to determine their skill level to help in building teams that are as evenly matched as possible. While everyone wants to win, we stress sportsmanship and teamwork over winning. We feel it is important that all children play regardless of skill level and work to build their skills and self-confidence during the season. In addition, the sports and recreation staff will lead short devotions before each game that relate to our relationships with one another.

The cost per player is $75. Jersey and league t-shirts are provided. Players will need to provide their own athletic shorts and shoes.

Evaluations will be held on November 9 and 10 from 5:30 to 7:30 pm. Participants only need to attend one night of evaluations, but every player must attend at least one evaluation in order to be placed on a team. The deadline to register is November 11. We will attempt to accommodate one friend request, however, both children will need to list each other's names when registering. To avoid scheduling conflicts, please be sure to include your preference for practice days when you register.

Practices begin on January 4. Games begin Saturday, January 16 and run through February.
