From the Pastor

This coming Sunday evening, our Personnel Committee will make a unanimous recommendation to the church that we call Wes Wilkinson as our Associate Pastor, Students. As you know, Wes has done an outstanding job leading our students since late June/early July and has become a tremendous influence in many of their lives in these few shorts months. If you were in the service this past Sunday, you got a taste of the excitement our students feel about Wes.

Wes is a graduate of Dallas Baptist University and is currently enrolled at Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. He comes from a great legacy with a family that has been in ministry for many years. His grandfather, Dr. Jimmy Draper, is one of the finest Christian leaders in the world today and has been a dear family friend for many years.

I hope you will come Sunday night to hear the recommendation from the Personnel Committee. I am fully behind this recommendation and believe that Wes is the man God has divinely led to our church to lead our students. Pray for Wes and I encourage you to do all you can to support him as he leads our students into the future.

God is doing a great work at First Baptist Carrollton and I am so pleased you are here at this time on this journey of faith.

Camp Out at The Fields

A camp out for all ages will be held Friday, March 16, through Saturday morning, March 17, at The Fields. We will have a fire pit, s'mores, hayrides, games, and much more. Bring something to cook on the grills or a picnic dinner for Friday night. A special breakfast will be served Saturday morning in the ministry building. Registration is required so we can ensure we have enough space and food. Deadline to register is March 11. Please register below.

Camp Wild for 1st-5th Grades

If your child is planning to attend Camp WILD at Huntsville this summer, please register as soon as possible. Children who will complete first through fifth grade in June 2012 are invited to attend. Parents, this will be an unforgettable experience for your child. The camp is Sunday, July 29, through Wednesday, August 1. Cost is $300, with a nonrefundable deposit of $75. Children's Baseball

Registration is now open for Children's Baseball at the Fields!

Divisions:
T-ball: Ages 4 and 5
Coach-Pitch: Ages 6 and 7

Practices will be one night a week starting the week of March 26. Games will be Saturday mornings beginning April 14. A t-shirt and hat are included in the cost of registration. Cost is $45 until deadline of March 1. The registration cost after March 1 will be $55. Deadline to register is March 11. A child will not be allowed to participate unless registration is complete. Forerunners New York Mission Trip

The Forerunners travel to New York City every summer to hold Vacation Bible School clubs in two different parks. Join us as we share Christ to the people of New York City. The trip will be June 9-16. Please click the button below to register for the trip.

GlobeTrekker Girls Mini Camp

The GlobeTrekker Girls Mini Camp will be March 30-31 at Mt. Lebanon Baptist Encampment. Cost is $50 per camper with a $10 non-refundable deposit. The fee includes overnight stay, three meals, crafts, insurance, entertainment, literature, and a camp t-shirt. Deadline to register for campers and sponsors is Wednesday, February 29. Late registrants will not receive a t-shirt. Girls should be prepared to let their leaders know who their camp buddy will be by the registration deadline. All campers are required to have a 2011-12 Medical Information and Medical Liability Release form on file in the Church Office. Please register below.

Just for Fifth Graders

The Children's Ministry is offering several opportunities for fifth graders to help them build relationships with the entire fifth grade group and to encourage them to be leaders and good role models for our younger children. The next opportunity for fifth graders is an evening at Jumpstreet, an indoor trampoline park, Friday, March 23. We will meet at the south parking lot of the church to load the bus at 5:45 pm. Please eat dinner before coming to the church. Cost for the evening is $12. Registrants must submit both a Jumpstreet waiver and a 2011-2012 Medical Information and Liability Release form to the Church Office (only one required per year). Registration is available below through March 18.

Leadership Summit

Make plans to attend the Leadership Summit on Sunday, February 26, from 6-7:15 pm. The Leadership Summit is a leadership conference designed for our Bible Fellowship leaders and teachers, but everyone is invited. Our speaker will be Topper Reid from Unlimited Partnerships Church Growth Division. Child-care will be provided for infants through fifth grade by reservation. The deadline to register for child-care is Sunday, February 19. Please register for child-care below.

Men's Flag Football Tournament

The Men's Flag Football Tournament is for ages 16 and older and play will be 4-on-4. The tournament will be May 18-19 at The Fields. The cost is $15 and registration ends May 1. Register below or visit fbccsports.org for information about this and other activities at The Fields.

Men's Soccer League

Men's soccer is for ages 16 and older. Games will be Monday nights starting April 23 and will run through June 11. Cost is $40 until April 4. Price goes up to $50 after April 4. MOPS (Mothers of Preschoolers)

The next meeting of MOPS is Monday, March 5, at 9:30 am in the Parlor. Interested mothers, please register at the link below to join and/or to register preschoolers for child-care.

Women's Ministry E-Women Conference

Registration is now available for the E-Women Conference the weekend of March 2-3 in Tulsa. The total cost for the conference is $135, but you can save your spot with a $50 deposit. The cost includes a charter bus that will leave the church around 10 am Friday, March 2, and return at 9 pm on Saturday, March 3. Hotel stay and breakfast and lunch on Saturday are also included. Worship Choir & Orchestra Retreat

The Worship Choir & Orchestra Retreat will be March 23-24 in Granbury, Texas. Join us for spiritual renewal and refreshment as we worship and share together, as well as rehearse for Easter events. Register below by March 1. Contact Michelle Chapman at music@fbcc.org with any questions.

Chick Chat & Craft

Ladies, come to Chick Chat & Craft and learn a new skill while enjoying fellowship on Thursday, February 23, in the Parlor from 6:30-9:30 pm. This semester, we'll be learning counted cross stitch, quilting, crochet and Swedish weaving. A small supply fee will vary with each class. Sign-up and class fee information are available on the Information Wall. Future class dates are March 22 and April 26.

Forerunners Day-trip

The Forerunners are offering a day-trip on Friday, February 24. Plans for the day include a mock trial with attorney Ron Marchant in the courtroom of Judge Patty Larson and a visit to the Veterans Memorial Wall in north Carrollton and the Veterans Memorial Star Walk in Farmers Branch. Forerunners Spring Banquet

Tickets are on sale for the March 20 Forerunner Spring Banquet. Please go to the Information Center on Sunday mornings or to the Choir Room on Tuesday mornings to purchase a ticket and make your seat reservation from a seating chart. Tickets are $13 per person.

Friendship Partners

You have an opportunity to reach the nations that have come right here to our community by becoming an American Friendship Partner with an international student attending UT-Dallas this year. You will spend time with the student to show them American culture and your lifestyle in following Jesus Christ.
