Alaska Mission Team leaves September 9
Our church has answered a call to help a women's shelter in Nome, Alaska build a snow fence so that their children can play on their playground through the coming winter. This is a very last minute trip which will leave THURSDAY, September 9 and return September 16. Several who are available to go need funding. If you can help, please click the donate button, or send donations by September 8 to the church office to Miriam's attention. Mark your envelope "Alaska."
Career Transition Workshop
If you are experiencing transition in your career - whether employed, unemployed or under employed – our free Career Transition Workshop can help you find the opportunities you have been seeking. CTW involves on-going and recurring sessions dedicated to serving those who have a need for guidance and instruction during these times of life transition. Childrens and Student Choir Registration

On Saturday, October 2, the church will be hosting a financial workshop from 9 am to 12:45 pm. Workshops will help you survive financial crises, develop budgets, plan for the future, improve your credit score and help you understand the new health care reform and how it affects your family. Fall Bible Study and Discipleship Classes
This fall many Bible study and discipleship classes are available to choose from. Dr. Ken Barker will teach Genesis and Romans. The Women's Ministry is offering Beth Moore's Daniel, Vicki Courtney's 5 Conversations with Your Daughter, First Place 4 Health, Beyond These Walls, and several off-site studies. Registration for GlobeTrekkers, Children's Choir, One Voice Middle School Choir, Living Proof High School Choir, student home groups and extended child-care is now available.
Forerunners 50th Wedding Anniversary Recognition Service
Forerunners will honor all couples who have celebrated 50 years of marriage at a special evening worship service on Sunday, September 19. IF you have had that golden wedding anniversary, or if you will celebrate before the end of 2010, PLEASE let us know by calling the Forerunner Office. It is important to have all names of couples by the end of July. This celebration by our church is only held every five years, so don’t delay in letting us include you!
Friday Night Out
Friday Night Out resumes Friday, September 17. The deadline to register is Sunday, September 12. If it is necessary to cancel, please call Margaret Bush, Child-care Coordinator, as soon as possible, at 972.512.3853.
GlobeTrekkers Missions for Children
GlobeTrekkers, our Wednesday night missions program for children enrolled in pre-kindergarten through fifth grade, resumes Wednesday, September 8, at 6:30 pm.
King’s Kids New Christian Class
King’s Kids is for children who have made a profession of faith or are interested in making a decision for Christ. This class is a requirement for church membership. Classes meet Sundays at 9:30 am in Room 249. A new session begins Sunday, September 12, and goes through Sunday, October 10. Cost for the workbook is $5. Register online by midnight Wednesday, September 8.
Mothers of Preschoolers (MOPS)
The first meeting of the year is September 13 in the Church Parlor. This year’s theme is “Momology, the Art and Science of Mothering.” Child-care is provided for infants through kindergarten by reservation only. Cost for the school year is $84 which includes the child-care. This year, two payment plans are available. Options are to pay in full or to pay a $14 registration fee and $10 each month through May. MOPS is a great outreach and service of first Baptist Carrollton. Please invite friends and neighbors to visit and allow our Preschool Ministry to love and encourage them.
