Senior Adults (Forerunners)

Most people think of senior groups as nothing more than "meet and eat" gatherings. But with the Forerunners at First Baptist Carrollton, our key word is purpose. We want to continue to grow closer to God, and we want to make a meaningful contribution in the lives of others. So when you join our 55 and up community -- be ready to be a part of something purposeful! You'll use your spiritual gifts, skills, and life experience to make a difference wherever you are. You will be involved in something deeply fulfilling, whether it's sharing Christ on a mission trip, working on a volunteer project in our neighborhood, serving our church, or encouraging one another through difficult times.

And, yes -- we do meet and eat, plus a lot of other fun things! We are running the race with purpose and we really look forward to you being a part.

Please let me intoduce you to our group! It will feel like home in a heartbeat.

Weekly Events

Sunday Mornings - 8:00, 9:15, & 10:45 am

Bible Fellowship
Don't miss out on a great opportunity to continue to grow in God's Word and to develop relationships with other seniors! Regardless of what stage of life you are in, whether you are newly retired, living the golden years, or widowed, there is a place for you to grow at First Baptist. We offer a variety of classes on Sunday mornings to fit your needs. Click here for a complete listing of all our available classes.

Worship
Worship with us at 9:15 or 10:45 am each week. Our 9:15 Worship is led by a full choir and orchestra and our 10:45 Worship is led by a worship team and praise band. Both services include a focused time of singing, prayer, and a biblically based sermon. There is no dress code. We are more concerned about who you are rather than how you are dressed. In our church family there are suits and shorts, so come how you are. We're just glad you are here!

Tuesday Mornings - 9:00 & 10:45 am
Bible Study
Our Forerunners Bible Study is a great time for you to sharpen your knowledge of God's Word and find the support and encouragement of friends. This Bible study is open to all. We meet in the Parlor on Tuesday mornings at 9 am.

Live Wire Choir Rehearsal
You do not want to miss out on Live Wire Choir! If you love to make a joyful noise to the Lord, we want you here. The Live Wire Choir, led by Rip Cannon, meets on Tuesday mornings at 10:45 am in the Choir Room. We sing for about an hour, and then have lunch together in the Parlor afterwards. Join us in worshipping the Lord together!

Wednesdays - 6 pm

Come to one of our Wednesday evening classes to sharpen your understanding of God's word. Click here for a complete listing of all of our available classes.
